CRT Monitors: given the nature of the CRT displays, repairing them is often not a viable option. To a large extent this depends on the severity of the damage. We are not surprised you are asking this question – the chances are you will only see CRT monitors in science museums these days. LCD panels and other modern display technologies offer innumerable advantaged over the now dead CRT technology, including more accurate and brighter images, flicker-free pictures, much lower power consumption, compact design, and a lot higher reliability and life-span.
However, some of the legacy industrial machines that continue to be in active duty, still have CRT monitors as part of their Humane-machine Interface. At this stage, it is impossible to make a case when we would not recommend replacing a failing CRT with an LCD retrofit.
LCD, stands for Liquid Crystal Display, is one of the modern display technologies widely used in consumer and commercial applications.
